Outdoor USA Magazine – Icebreaker Replaces Plastic Pins with Cardboard Packaging

For fall/winter 2010, Icebreaker is replacing the traditional plastic banit pins used to hold pairs of its premium merino socks together with a folding cardboard wrap pack. This will eliminate the need for retail staff to repackage socks after consumers have removed the banit pin to try them on and prevent discarded banit pins from ending up in landfills

Sustainable Business Oregon -Icebreaker rolls out plastic-free packaging

Icebreaker, the New Zealand clothing company that has its U.S. headquarters in Portland, announced Thursday that their new sock packaging will include some new sustainability features including the absence of plastic.
