Nike Inc. and the Oregon Community Foundation have teamed up to launch a $1.5 million grant fund for Portland schools and nonprofits.

The fund will award as much as $500,000 annually for three years to nonprofits and schools dedicated to sport and physical activity.

Nike employees will volunteer as part of the effort and sit on its advisory committee.

Nike announces community grants

Nike has announced the launch of the Nike Employee Grant Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation. The fund, through The Oregon Community Foundation, will grant up to $500,000 per year for three years to local nonprofit organizations or schools that wish to join Nike in creating positive social and environmental change, primarily through physical activity.
