Icebreaker gets the plastic out with new sock packaging

Coming soon to a retails store near you: Icebreaker socks without the that weird s-shaped clippy thing that socks are often folded over so they can hang on a display. Icebreaker is replacing these loopy pieces of plastic, called banit pins, with a folding cardboard wrap pack. Not only does this prevent discarded pins from ending up in landfills, but it makes it easier for shop employees to put the socks back in their packaging after you pull them out to fully examine them, or try them on

TIME – Global Business – New Zealand Cool

LWA PR took Icebreaker founder and CEO, Jeremy Moon, to New York to meet with Time Magazine Assistant Managing Editor Bill Saporito. The resulting story appeared in the March 22, 2010 business edition in the U.S.- about 1.5 million subscribers. The US edition of Time (treaches 3,389,166 one time viewers. Adding pass along (x3), in the US this story should be seen by 4.5M people. The story also ran in Time in Australia and may run elsewhere.
