When Fletcher visited one of the market’s six locations, she found a mushroom vendor that had “incredible” wild mushrooms at a price she never would have seen at her local market.
Kathryn Yeomans has partnered wtih Roger Konka of Springwater Farm and is offering the results of that partnership at Portland Farmer’s Markets. I ran down to Portland’s Living Room, before they opened this morning at Pioneer Courthosue Square.

Wintry rain has set back some Oregon crops this year and cramped Oregon farmers markets, too. Still, a market is one place you can take visitors for a taste, a feel, a glimpse of summer’s exuberance. With or without blue sky, the season is implicated, distilled, refracted.
