Even though forecasts called for miserable gray, wet weather today and the rest of the foreseeable future (through Sunday), shoppers were treated to a pleasant, partly sunny afternoon at the opening of the Buckman Farmers Market.
The market, located at Southeast 20th Avenue and Salmon Street, celebrated its opening season with music and a handful of new faces.
Among those is the natural beef grower, Highland Oak Farm, which had jerky and ultra-fresh cuts of beef. For the more sweet- or veggie-minded among us, there’s the pie-maker Queen of Hearts Baking Company that had both savory and sweet pies that are all gluten-free.
