King Farmers Market to host cooking classes for kids, neighborhood meetings: OregonLive.com, May 2011

The King Farmers Market is one of the sites for an expansion of a Portland Farmers Market program for kids. According to blogger Trace Salmon, the King Market will host the Bite Size Kids Cook – cooking classes for kids using seasonal produce.

Swinging an ax and wielding a saw is a century-plus-old tradition in Oregon. The timber industry helped build the state, and lumberjacking used to be one of the biggest trades in the Northwest. So it’s surprising that the premier timber sports competition, the Stihl Timbersports Series, hasn’t been to Oregon … until now.
